If you’re like most people, you probably rely on your phone to keep you connected to the world. But what if something happened to your phone? Or what if you just want to take your phone with you when you travel? Here’s how to set up your Uniden phone so that it works like a normal phone. First, make sure that your Uniden is registered with a wireless network. If it isn’t, go to www.uniden.com and register it with the network of your choice. Once registered, open the Uniden app and sign in. Next, go to Settings and select Wireless Networks. You’ll see a list of networks that are available in your area. Tap on the network that you want to use and enter the security code that was sent to your phone when it was registered. Once signed in, tap on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen and select Advanced Settings from the menu that appears. Under Network Type, select Access Point Mode and enter the name of an existing access point or create a new one by entering its SSID (name) and password. If creating a new access point, make sure that its security settings are adequate for use by unsecured devices such as phones (WPA2-PSK). Tap Save at the bottom of the screen when finished setting up networking preferences. Now we’ll configure our Uniden for use as a normal phone by selecting Phone Mode from Advanced Settings and entering our telephone number (including area code) into Phone Number field under Numbering Plan Options. We also need to enter our mobile carrier’s SIM card information into Mobile Carrier field under SIM Card Options so that we can make calls using our regular cellular service provider’s numbers rather than using those assigned to our Uniden device alone. Connect the base station to a power source and plug the handset into an available outlet. Insert two AAA batteries into the handset and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. Press the dial button on the base station to connect it with your home telephone service provider.
