If you have an account on Windows 8, you may want to remove your account picture from the system. This is a simple process that can be done in a few steps.
- Open the Start screen and type “netstat -an”. This will show you the active network connections and their status.
- In the example below, I have two active connections: one is from my work computer and one is from my home computer. The netstat output shows that the first connection is active, but the second connection is not.
- To remove my account picture from Windows 8, I would need to change one of these connections to be inactive so that it no longer shows up in netstat output. I would then close both of those connections by typing “close” at the top of the screen and hitting enter.
Click on the arrow next to your account name in the upper-right corner of the screen. Click “More PC Settings. ”Click “Accounts. ”Click “Sign-in options. ”Click “Remove my account picture.
