If you are the administrator of a Windows 8 computer, you may have forgotten your password. Or, you may have changed it and can’t remember what it is. In either case, you can remove the administrator password by following these steps:

  1. Open the Start screen and type “password” into the search box.
  2. When the “Password Settings” window appears, click on “Change Password.”
  3. Enter your current password in the “New Password” field and click on “Change.”
  4. Click on the “Advanced” button and then on the “Security Options” tab.
  5. Under “User Rights Assignment,” click on the checkbox next to “Administrator.” This will remove your administrator rights and make it possible to change your password without entering your old one first. ..
