If you want to keep your bank account hidden from your spouse or significant other, you can do so easily and without much effort in QuickBooks Online. Here’s how:

  1. Open the “Company” menu in QuickBooks Online and select “Accounts.”
  2. On the “Accounts” page, select the bank account you want to hide.
  3. In the “Details” section of the bank account’s page, click on the “Edit Details” button.
  4. In the “Edit Details” window, under the heading “Description,” type a new description for your bank account that is not related to finances or banking activities. For example, you could type “My personal savings account.”
  5. Underneath the heading “Type of Account,” click on the drop-down menu and select “Individual Retirement Account (IRA).” This will change the description to reflect that this is an IRA account rather than a regular bank account.
