If you’re like most people, you probably use Instagram to share photos and videos with your friends and family. But if you want to keep your account private, there are a few steps you can take to do so. First, open Instagram and sign in. Then, go to the “settings” tab and click on the “share” button. Under “Share Type,” select “private.” Now, under “Share Options,” set the following values to their respective defaults: “Only Public Users Can Share,” “Do Not Share With Friends,” and “Do Not Share With Family.” If you want to keep your account private even if someone else signs in as a public user, set the value for “Only Public Users Can Post.” Now that you’ve set up your account’s sharing preferences, it’s time to disable them. To do so, open Instagram again and sign in. Then go to the “settings” tab and click on the “share” button again. Under “Share Type,” select “private.” Now, under “Share Options,” set the following values to their respective defaults: “Disable Sharing On Instagram,” and finally, click on the “disable sharing” button.
