If you have a HMRC account, it’s important to delete it if you want to stop receiving tax payments. Deleting your account will also stop any future tax audits. To delete your HMRC account:

  1. Log in to your HMRC account online or by using an app.
  2. Click on the “Delete my account” link under the “Accounts” tab.
  3. Enter your personal information and password, and click on the “delete” button.
  4. Your HMRC account will be deleted and all of its data will be removed.
