However, if you are not a Facebook user and you use Messenger for communication purposes, then there is no easy way to delete your Messenger account on these platforms. There are a few ways to delete your Messenger account on iPhone or Android:
- Delete the app from your phone’s App Store and reinstall it. This will deletes all of the data and settings associated with the app.
- Delete the app from your phone and uninstall it completely. This will not deletes any of the data or settings associated with the app, but it will stop all communication between the app and your contacts.
- Use one of the following methods to uninstall Messenger: (a) Tap on “Settings” in the top left corner of your screen and select “Privacy” under “General.” Then tap on “Delete Account.” (b) Open up an administrator’s manual by going into Settings > General > Security > Administrator’s Manual and selecting it from the list of options. Then tap on “Delete Account.” (c) Type “rm -rf /Applications/Messenger/com.facebook.messenger” into a Terminal window and press enter to execute this command: rm -rf /Applications/Messenger/com.facebook.messenger
