If you’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of logging into Facebook and finding that someone has added your account without your permission, there’s a good chance you’ve tried to delete that account. But if you’re not the account owner, deleting it can be a frustrating process. Here’s how to do it. First, make sure you have the account’s password handy. If not, log in to Facebook and click on the Account Settings link in the top right corner of the screen. From here, click on Password Protect Your Account. Enter your password and click on Change Password. Next, go to Facebook’s main page and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen (or hit Ctrl+F (Command+F on a Mac) to search for “account”). In the resulting window, type “delete” into the search bar and hit Enter. This will take you to a page where you can choose whether or not to delete your account permanently. If you decide to delete it, click on Delete My Account Now. If you just want to disable your account instead of deleting it, select Disable My Account from this same page instead. You’ll then be prompted to enter your password again so that Facebook can disable access for anyone who doesn’t have your current password. ..
