If you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, there’s a good chance that you’ve at some point had to deactivate your console. This is usually done in order to free up space on your hard drive or in order to upgrade your hardware. If you’re not sure how to do this, here’s a guide on how:

  1. Open the PlayStation 4 system software and click on the “Settings” button.
  2. Scroll down and click on the “Security” tab.
  3. Scroll down and click on the “Deactivate Console” button.
  4. Click on the “Activate Console” button to finish deactivating your console.
