Instagram is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, but it can be frustrating when you can’t seem to get that elusive follow back. Here are four ways to check if someone is following you on Instagram:

  1. Open the Instagram app and sign in. If someone has followed you without your permission, their profile will show up as a blue dot next to your username.
  2. Go to your profile and click on the “followers” tab at the top. If someone has followed you without your permission, their name and profile picture will be grayed out and they won’t have a following count listed.
  3. Open the “following” tab on the main Instagram page (found under “Settings”). If someone has followed you without your permission, their name and profile picture will be grayed out and they won’t have a following count listed.
