ProtonMail is a secure email service that has been in the news lately for its security features. ProtonMail has been accused of deleting user accounts, but does the company actually do this? According to ProtonMail’s website, “No.” In fact, ProtonMail claims that it only deletes user accounts if they have violated their terms of service. “If a user violates our terms of service or any other agreement we may have with them, then their account will be deleted,” the website says. So far, there has been no evidence to support these claims. However, it’s worth noting that ProtonMail is not without its controversies. In February, it was revealed that the company had been selling access to its users’ data to third-party companies.
