Mail accounts can expire, but it’s not always clear what happens if they do. Generally, when an account is expired, the user is no longer able to send or receive mail from that account. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule. If an account is expired because the user has not used it for a certain period of time (usually six months), then the account may still be usable if the user renews it. If an account is expired because the user has not used it for a certain number of days or weeks, then the account may be unusable.
