The National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma is asking for the public’s help in unlinked a supercell that produced a tornado on Sunday. The tornado touched down around 3 p.m. near the town of Pawnee and caused damage to several homes and businesses. The supercell was spotted by radar shortly after it formed, but it was not until after it had already caused damage that officials were able to track it down and issue a warning. The tornado was rated an EF-3 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which is the highest rating possible. Norman County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Smith said that this type of event is rare in Oklahoma, but they are always prepared for it. “We have been working with our state partners to be ready for these types of events,” he said. If you have any information about this supercell or the tornado that touched down, please contact the National Weather Service at (405) 271-5100 or submit a tip online at www.wunderground.com/storm/oklahoma-tornado/. ..
