Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular messaging apps on the market, and for good reason. It’s fast, easy to use, and has a ton of features. But there are times when you might want to disable Facebook Messenger. Maybe you’re not using it and don’t want it taking up space on your phone. Maybe you have kids who are using it and you don’t want them communicating with strangers. Whatever the reason, here are four ways to disable Facebook Messenger on your phone.
- Open the Facebook app on your phone and tap on the three lines in the top left corner (or go to facebook.com/apps). Then tap on “Settings” in the top right corner.
- Under “General,” tap on “Messenger” and then toggle off “Use Messenger as default app.”
- Open the Settings app on your phone and under “Privacy,” tap on “Messenger.” Then turn off “Allow calls from numbers I don’t know.”
- Open the Settings app again and under “General,” tap on “Location Services.” Then turn off “Use location services for Facebook updates, messages, calls and location-based searches." ..
