Here are some tips on how to get started:
- Decide what kind of fanfiction you want to write. Are you interested in writing slash? Or do you want to try your hand at gen? Once you know what kind of story you want to tell, start thinking about your characters. Do they already have a backstory? What do they look like? Once you have your cast set up, start brainstorming scenes and ideas for your story. 2) Research your chosen fandom before starting work on your story. This isn’t just important if you plan on writing slash; it’s important for any type of fan fiction.
